My husband and I are in need of a personal loan so that we can save our home from foreclosure. My husband was a paramedic for 13 years and worked with a lot of knee and back pain, without complaints, until he had to have a knee replacement, bone removal, and finally 5 discs fused in his back. Because of all of the surgery he was let go from his postition at a hospital. He was receiving AFLAC for 6 months but that ran out as did his COBRA insurance. He applied for SS Disability over two years ago and has still not received a hearing date. He is still waiting which means he has no income whatsoever.
I lost my state job due to having to stay home with him after his back surgery (and a stroke) and have not been able to find a decent job yet. I do whatever I can to make money while still attending school to complete by BS degree. I take calls for ShopNBC, perform secret shopping, product demonstrations, and perform in a dinner theatre show. The money I make barely pays the normal bills and the hours are never gauranteed. We have depleted everything we had in savings and are now living on credit cards. We have lived in our home for 13 years and this is the first time we have ever been behind on our payments. The mortgage company is now threatening foreclosure because we have hit three months in default.
This home means everything to us and we have no idea what we will do if we lose it. My husband's lawyer, Binder and Binder, says he should be getting his hearing within two to three months. Once he is awarded his SS Disability he will be receivng back pay that will be due him. This means that at that time we could pay off any ln granted to us. What I am pleading for is enough to keep us from losing our home which is $6,000 at this time.
Please, can anyone help? We have never asked for anything in our entire lives but we are now at the bottom of the barrel. I pray ebery day for a job to come my way but, as interview after interview pass by, I am still not fully employed. I am lost as to how to survive.
Thanks for listening.
